DFA: Opens Branches in Malls. Get your passport today!

Do you need a passport?
Thinking of going overseas to work?
Travelling elsewhere abroad for leisure?
Do you need to renew your expired passport?

Last July, I blogged about DFA NCR: New Passport Office Coming Soon.
DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs), the government agency responsible for Philippine Passport processing and issuance is reaching out to more Filipinos. Good news for everybody! They have opened two satellite offices today. The newly opened branches are in:
1)  7th floor of SM Megamall Building C in Mandaluyong (10am-8pm)
2)  Level 1, West Lane of Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas (10am-7pm)

Starting September 3, 1,000 applicants shall be accommodated at DFA-NCR East, which will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays for both processing and releasing and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays for releasing only.
Only applicants with scheduled appointments and senior citizens with valid proof of age shall be accommodated. To schedule an appointment, please log on to www.passport.com.ph or to www.megamall.passport.com.ph or call (02) 737-1000.

Now anyone can get their passport applications even on weekends, which is an advantage for working 8-5 individuals. You don't need to go farther in DFA Main (Diosdado Macapagal Blvd., Pasay) to get your passport since they have offices in the malls now and open until 7pm. This is what I call good government service to the Filipino people. Kudos!  :)
