Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila: Comfy Stay Amidst the Rains and Floods

During the torrential rain floods since Monday night August 6, me and my boyfriend were checked in at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila. My boyfriend who's working for a inflight entertainment company comes here in Manila frequently. Others blog about their first experience so I thought of blogging about Hyatt Hotel since we were very happy with our stays, the food and service that we get from them since 2008. Yes it was back in 2008 when me and my bf are still together and staying in Hyatt Hotel so our relationship now is on-going for 4 years.

What do we love about Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila?

Location. It is strategically situated in the heart of Manila, 30 minutes going to and from the airport and also 1 ride going there by jeep from my residence in Sampaloc, Manila. Not to mention the scenic sunset view of the Manila Bay that you can witness at the Regency Club Lounge during late afternoons.

Hyatt Hotel by day

Food. Oh yes we love the food in Hyatt Hotel. Whether if its room service or one of their in-house restaurants, they always served good food. Most of the time I eat Continental dishes but on the photo I opted for a Filipino Breakfast (P950) which is available 24 hours a day (room service).  I ordered this for dinner because I got back late in the hotel hungry. I had to go home earlier that day to see how my cats were doing because pets are not allowed in the hotel. As a Diamond Member, we enjoyed complimentary continental breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres at the Regency Club Lounge located on the 10th floor of Hyatt Hotel.  I will write more in detail about their food on a separate post.  

Double A's (Accomodations and Amenities). We usually stay on the 33rd floor of the hotel since our room is usually a suite, Club King as they call it; either facing the Manila Bay area or the swimming pool on the other photos shown below.

The mini-bar has a personal ref with cold drinks and liquor then on the side it has some snacks, coffee and tea, cups and glasses too. If I have my own house in the future, I want a mini-bar cabinet in my bedroom too :)

This is one of my favorite spots in our room, the windows area because I don't like a room without or has small windows. I love the curtained large windows plus the comfy red seats and red Roses on top of the coffee table. The windows are also soundproof so you can't hear it when its raining hard outside so you can enjoy a good night sleep and less worries.

My bf is business-minded and sometimes busy checking business emails, preparing for their presentations and demo; he has his own work station in the room. He was away during the day when this photo was taken. We also enjoy complimentary in-room internet access, so me and my boyfriend can be online at the same time since we both have our laptop. The wireless internet access is fast enough though there were times that it gets disconnected from time to time maybe because of the extreme weather. It wasn't like that in our previous stays.

I am also very satisfied with the housekeeping department because they always make sure that our room and bathroom has been cleaned and arranged, toiletries and fresh towels were also provided to us daily during our stay. Their bathroom has a nice interior since it has a separate toilet and shower room and made up of luxurious Italian Marble.

Friday morning was the last day of our stay. The sky was clear and its a sunny day, I can't help it but take a picture of the nice view of Manila from our hotel window. I took this photo before 7am before we headed into the Regency Club Lounge for breakfast. We checked out the hotel around 830am.

Service. We always have been served excellently by the friendly staffs working in and out of the hotel, these include the security guards and bellboys which will greet and assist you before you enter the hotel and before leaving the hotel premises especially if you need to get a metered taxi. 
For this year, this is our 4th stay in a row. Even the hotel staffs knows and greet us with a smile, "Welcome back to Hyatt Hotel sir-ma'm, its good to see you again here. "

 We looked forward into another enjoyable stay at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila soon :)

Balitaan sa Tinapayan: August 5, 2012

The Balitaan sa Tinapayan has been postponed for a few weeks during the month of July 2012 for some reasons but since its August so it's now back and kicking :)

There should be two speakers earlier today but it just so happened that the other speaker has to postponed to run to his emergency errand. 
The guest speaker earlier was Manila Vice Mayor Francisco Domagoso a.k.a. Isko Moreno.
He tackled the causes of disasters (typhoons and flooding) and what the local government units are doing to prevent such disasters in these times of typhoon season in our country.

It was great that vice mayor was alone during the media forum, many questions were asked and he has answered most of it though there are some that he didn't answer since it was not part of his jurisdiction. Other unrelated topics were also raised by the audience and he has addressed most of it. 

I think he will be the next vice mayor of Manila again and no wonder, I would definitely agree since he knows how the masses feel like in other concerns; he knows where they are coming from as he had been there.

BAYANI... ANG TATAY KO: Premieres on August 5

Filipinos are noted to have a very significant and positive attitude in handling difficulties in life. Others may also treat their predicaments in sort of “cool” manners, which the Pinoys are really known for.  M&N Films have come up with a brilliant idea of ideally showing to the public the film “Bayani Ang Tatay Ko.” An indie film about life, its struggles... it’s about presenting life’s most vivid moments with the people we love. This film not only wishes to instill family values but also provide entertainment and at the same time honors the law enforcers.

Actor-comedian and host Bayani Agbayani plays SPO3 Nicanor Corpuz , a decorated cop, loving dad and husband to his wife Susan played by Yayo Aguila, and son, Adrian played by child actor Yogo Singh. They live a simple, happy life until an incident took their lives on a different turn. One morning while in the police detachment where he is working, Taning played by Rommel Montano, a toughie from an influential family came looking for his colleague, SPO1 Joey Ponce. Ponce apparently shut down his illegal “videokarera” business and refused to accept a bribe, making the latter furious. Taning was scandalizing the station so he took a policewoman, SPO2 Pinky Madrigal hostage prompting Nick to defend his colleague.

Nick was suspended from service and he turned to selling “isaw” to make ends meet. Failing to do so, his wife Susan decided to go to Hongkong to work as a domestic helper. To help him in his business, Susan sent his brother, Ading played by Gene Padilla to help Nick tend to the isaw business. But the former cop realized that he is not cut for business, so he asked for his ninong, Col. Roberto Ugarte to give him an assignment. Colonel Ugarte referred him to the city hall where he worked as a traffic enforcer. As a traffic enforcer, Nick has learned to be happy with his new job because he wears a uniform and arrests violators. It was at this time when he was informed that his colleague, Ponce has remained missing since the precinct incident; SPO1 Fernandez had been looking for him. Worse, his wife Susan called to tell him she was victimized by an illegal recruiter.

All these tribulations that had happened to Nick and his family occurred very untimely. Witness how will a typical Filipino family face these challenges in a comedic and a bit of dramatic way with a sting of action to highlight the story.

Joining the lead stars are actor/model and ex-PBB housemate, Johann Santos, Ms. Jet Claveria, Butch Elizalde, Pinoy T.A.L.K. host Paul Quimbo, Ms. Jing Javier and Paulo Ponce and is under the helm of Ellen Argano.  “Bayani...Ang Tatay Ko...” is one of the official entries to the 2^nd PNP Film Festival and subsequently, the awarding will take place at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on August 7, 2012.

 Being a policeman is indeed a heroic profession; it is both a difficult and extensive task enabling continuous protection of the public and their property as well as maintaining law and order. Preventing crime, reducing its fear and ensuring the improvement of every citizen’s quality of life are no way an easy job. So let us all salute the gentle officers... the all-time “bayani” of every community.

PHILTOA: Launches the Country's Largest Tourism Expo

If you've ever thought about taking a vacation and exploring the Philippines, now would be the best time to turn that idea into a reality.

Featured tours include the Batanes-Cagayan Northern-scape, Cordilleras Cultural Weekend Warrior Caravan, Central Visayas Backdoor tour, and the Tuna-T'Boli trail, among others.

“It has always been our goal to outdo ourselves every year,” says PHILTOA President Cesar Cruz, who is also the chairman of the upcoming PTM. “Innovation is key. We've been working closely with tour operators and government agencies alike to offer newer, better products yearly.”

Like most trade shows, the PTM will still feature classic destinations such as Bohol, Boracay, Cebu and Palawan.
